History of Jeans

The American Hollywood film and television entertainment industry has played an indispensable role in driving the international popularity of jeans. In the60s and 70s, the widespread popularity of rock and roll and the influence of the hippie lifestyle on teenagers further promoted the trend of jeans. Since then, this humble-born jeans has risen to a hundred times its original value and has remained popular for a long time. In people's minds, classic jeans should like this: topstitching, patch pockets, and rivet badges as decorations. However, the earliest jeans were not as people imagined them to be. 855 - The earliest jeans only had one back pocket and no yoke.            1872 - The use of metal rivets to reinforce the stressed of the jeans was first introduced.

1873 - Jeans changed from gray to indigo blue, and the back pocket was decorated with orange double-arch stitching.

1886 - The pattern on the back waist badge was changed from a dwarf to two horses. 1890 - A watch pocket and yoke were added.

1893 - Whitcomb Jobson invented the zipper.

1905 - A second back pocket was added, and the-pocket design of the jeans was finalized.

1922 - Belt loops were added to the waist.

1926 - Lee Company produced the world's zipper jeans. 1937 - The rivets on the back pockets were hidden inside.

1941 - The rivet on the lower part of the placket was removed. During World War II, the back waist bow and watch pocket rivets were removed, and the double-arched stitching on the back was replaced by a similar printed graphic. A laurel leaf replaced the logo "L.S.&Co.S.F.Cal." on the button. 194 - The arched stitching reappeared.           1950 - To follow the fashion trend, the pants were cut into a slimmer style. 195 - The production of 501 jeans with zippers began.

     1959 - Pre-shrunk jeans were developed.

1966 - corners of the back pockets were secured with short bar stitches instead of rivets.

     1971 - The red badge changed from "LEVI`S" toLevi`s".

1983 - With the improvement of weaving technology, the fabric width increased, and the red pant leg disappeared
